MEET OUR 2026 AWARD RECIPIENTS
GRAMMY® Award winner GIL ROSE is one of today’s most innovative conductors, praised as “amazingly versatile” (The Boston Globe) with “a sense of style and sophistication” (Opera News). Equally comfortable performing core repertoire, new works, and lesser-known historic symphonic and operatic works, “Gil Rose is not just a fine conductor, but a peerless curator, sniffing out—and commissioning—off-trend, unheralded, and otherwise underplayed repertoire that nevertheless holds to unfailingly high standards of quality. We are honored to present Gil with the 2026 MPA Composer Advocacy Award.
BRENNA HORN-CRONIN serves as Executive General Manager of School Music License. Combining her passions for arts management, music, hospitality, and education, she leads School Music License and helps thousands of schools make the most of their arts and athletics programs. Brenna currently serves on the Board of the Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association, previously served on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Theatre Association, and supports Education Justice efforts for young women in Rwanda. For her dedication to education, copyright, and copyright education, we are thrilled to present Brenna with the Arnold Broido Award for Copyright Advocacy.

GENE CAPRIOGLIO is being honored with the MPA Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his decades of dedication to music and the music publishing industry. He spent 45 years with C. F. Peters Corporation before retiring in 2025. A lifelong Queens resident, Gene has been playing guitar since age 11 and earned a B.A. in Music Education from Queens College. He also served for many years on the Board of Directors of the MPA and continues to perform with several bands throughout New York City’s five boroughs.
