Membership

More than 60 music publishers belong to the MPA, many with international affiliates, subsidiaries, and distributorships.

Who should join MPA?

Any individual, partnership, association or corporation in the United States, engaged in the business of publishing musical works in printed or other form is eligible for membership. These include all entities which are the exclusive representatives in the U.S.A. of foreign musical works.

Benefits of membership

In addition to fostering a community of publishers, members obtain voting status in the organization, are invited to attend all meetings of the Board, and are eligible to sit on the Committees. Members gain access to the MPA officers, Board members, Committees, counsel, and are encouraged to take an active role in MPA meetings and activities.

Member companies are invited to attend our Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon as well as other special events that we may host. Members may also submit their work for our Annual Paul Revere Awards for Graphic Excellence–the only awards for engraving excellence in the music publishing industry.

All members receive a regular, comprehensive reports from our Board. These reports include relevant information from standing Committees with extensive and timely updates on pressing issues relevant to music publishers and comprehensive information regarding technological developments effecting music publishing, as well as detailed reports on legal and legislative activity in the area of copyright. The MPA membership benefits from representation at the major music industry organization meetings and events via the MPA’s liaison with each organization.

Each member benefits from the value of being a part of a united voice promoting print music publisher positions through the MPA’s national copyright education programs and ongoing efforts to protect and preserve intellectual property rights throughout the world.
