The MPA Archive, being the assembled administrative papers of the Music Publishers' Association, was placed on deposit at the Sibley Music Library in March. The oldest music trade organization in the USA, the MPA (est. 1895) serves to facilitate communication between music publishers, music dealers, music educators, and the large body of music users. It addresses every area of music publishing, with special emphasis on issues pertinent To publishers of music for concert and educational purposes. The archive of the MPA joins a growing corpus of archives of professional associations which have been placed on deposit at the Sibley Music Library. Others in that body of materials include the archives of the New York State School Music Association, the International Horn Society, and the American Orff-Schulwerk Association.
